1. Call the business or individual whom the CCJ is in favour of direct in an effort to do a deal that gets the Enforcement Officer off your door step. Any luck the business or individual will be a soft touch and will be grateful for any money you offer after 9 months of non payment forgetting exposure to enforcement fees.
2. Tell the Enforcement Officer you agreed a Payment Plan with the business or individual whom the CCJ is in favour of prior to their attendance. Truth is you didn’t or the Payment Plan was refused but depending on how smart the officer is they don’t know that.
3. Despite clearly having an office space in your back garden with the company debtor signage, that the Enforcement Officer can get access to, tell the Enforcement Officer by law they cannot enter your home. Any luck the Enforcement Officer hasn’t spotted you left the back gate open.
4. When calling the business or individual the CCJ is in favour of, offer to pay the principal debt now, and the fees and costs by the end of the month. Truth is you will not pay the costs and fees, and when the Enforcement Officer returns hide behind the curtains and make sure you fixed the lock to the back gate.
5. Call a friend that is a Google Lawyer to discuss the legalities of enforcement with the Enforcement Officer. Any luck the Enforcement Officer isn’t bright and doesn’t realise they’re talking to a layman that gets information from the ‘We hate Enforcement Officers and Bailiffs Forum’ on the internet.
6. Tell the Enforcement Officer the company debtor is in liquidation, if the Enforcement Officer checks to see it isn’t tell them you are in discussions with an Insolvency Practitioner. If the Enforcement Officer isn’t bright they’ll walk away because they trust you will put the company debtor into liquidation, when the truth is you will do no such thing.
Recently our Enforcement agent faced nearly every tip above, but had the experience and skill set to ensure payment of the CCJ together with enforcement costs in full.
